Challenges of Mecca
One of the struggles that I myself think Prophet Muhammad had faced was the revelation when Angel Jibriel came down to tell him to ‘read’. He meant this to read Surah Alaq (Surah 96).
At first Prophet Muhammad was terrified because he did not know how to read or write in his whole life however Prophet Muhammad read it with no mind of learning it. This traumatized him, and he covered himself with a blanket in his home with his wife Khadija (R.A.) comforting him.
After others found about these revelations, the Prophet (S.A.W.) started to face abuse and the safety of those around him started to become a concern. Makkah was suddenly becoming a very difficult place to live. With word of an assassination plot, the Prophet saw had to take action quickly and move to safety.
